# Is That Desert Rock Capital? How to Tell a Licensed Utah Installment Lender Apart from Credit Unions and Other Financial Names

## Two words that cause a lot of confusion: Desert Rock

Hundreds of Utahns search for us by name every month. Some land on our Google Business Profile looking for something else entirely. They typed a similar-sounding name, maybe a credit union or a bank, and ended up here. If that happened to you, this page will clear things up.

## Desert Rock Capital is not a credit union. It is not a bank.

Desert Rock Capital is a licensed Utah consumer lender. We have been doing one thing for years: personal and signature installment loans from $100 to $3,000, with no credit check and no collateral. We have three branches in Utah (Salt Lake City, Orem, and St. George) and an online application. That is the whole business.

We do not offer checking accounts, savings accounts, mortgages, auto loans, credit cards, or wealth management. We do not have a national footprint. We do not share a parent company or affiliation with any credit union, bank, or other financial institution regardless of how similar the name sounds.

## Why the name confusion happens

Utah has several financial institutions with Desert in the name. It is a strong Utah word. The confusion is understandable. But Desert Rock Capital is independent. We operate under our own Utah lending license, our own loan officers review every application, and our own branches serve customers in person six days a week.

If you searched for a credit union and found us instead, you are not alone. Google Maps data shows that hundreds of impressions on our profile come from searches that include other business names alongside ours. We want to make this as clear as we can: we are a separate company offering a specific type of loan.

## What Desert Rock Capital actually offers

We make personal loans that people repay in fixed, predictable biweekly payments. No credit check is part of the application. No collateral is required. If approved, funds can be ready the same day. Here is what that means in practice:

## What to expect when you apply

Applying takes a few minutes online or in person. You will need proof of income, a valid ID, your Social Security card, and proof of residence. A loan officer reviews your application, not an algorithm. You get a decision in about 30 minutes during business hours. If approved, your funds can be ready the same day.

The decision is based on your ability to repay. Your credit score is not part of the equation. A past bankruptcy, bad credit, or no credit history does not automatically disqualify you.
